The use of plastic bottles made from PET is increasing worldwide. Reciprocating compressors pressurize the air that is required to blow the bottles. PET bottles
PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate, a thermoplastic synthetic material. This material is used in the production of bottles containing beverages. PET granulate is liquefied and then blown into a bottle inside a blow mould using air at a pressure of approx. 40 bar. The air is pressurised to this level in special PET reciprocating compressors. Some facilities are able to produce up to a million bottles per day.
